Steve Jobs reminded us that "the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that do". This happens to be the driving force behind the Boss Ladies United. With statistics continuing to show that a large percentage of women are lagging behind in the workforce in relation to upward progression, coupled with the fact that women globally have been the most impacted in the work place by this pandemic, Boss Ladies United has embarked on a challenge to help women rise up. For Founder, Alison Browne-Ellis and Co-Founders Keri Mapp and Tricia Griffith, the vision is to unite an army of stronger, well-rounded Boss Ladies where empowerment, mentorship and collaboration comes second to nature and where all women are focused on winning. Boss Ladies United is a professional development and networking association introduced to Inspire, Empower, Elevate and Unite women across all levels of society. According to the Founder, "We see a Boss Lady as any "Woman On The Move", which happens to be the name pegged for a Starcom Radio Series the group hosted back in October. For the trio team, being a Boss Lady is not about owning a business or having a fancy title in business! It's a Mindset. An Attitude and A Way of Life for persons that are constantly striving to get better and do better. While only launched in February of this year, the team has trained over 200 women of all ages on topics such as Moving with Intentionality Through Times of Change and Uncertainty, Emotional Intelligence, Putting Your Dreams To The Test, Leadership 101, Personal Branding, Building Self-Confidence and The Invaluable Laws of Growth. The sessions were facilitated by Alison Browne-Ellis who is a certified John Maxwell Team Trainer and Corporate Executive. The team also hosts free Group Mentorship sessions once per quarter which is open to anyone that registers. In keeping with its vision, Boss Ladies United launched its first cohort of Mentees and Mentors under the "Empowering Boss Ladies Mentorship Program" this September matching 12 young career professionals with experienced business women who have excelled across their respective industries and business interest. This new program made way for a monetary donation to be presented to Jabez House to help with the fantastic work that Shamelle Rice and her team are doing to bring about transformation in women, while empowering the women with new skills that help them to create a better life. Recognising that greater competence in women naturally increases confidence, a key focus of the association is training and professional development of woman to evoke purpose-driven growth, while encouraging them to move with internationality towards their dreams and aspirations for success. Co-Founder Keri Mapp shared that "the team is committed to building bridges that will allow women at all levels to get excited about the vision they hold for their lives because we firmly believes that a win for one woman, is a win for all!" Meanwhile, Co-Founder Tricia Griffith is excited about the major transformation that the team has already started to witness across the women that support the programs. She said "what we are seeing firsthand solidifies the importance of the work that we are doing to help women along both their personal and professional journey." As career professionals, the Boss Ladies United team also gets the need for women on the move to blend in moments of pause, while in pursuit of your goals and recently launched a new project aimed at doing just that. The "Embrace The Pause Inspirational Adult Coloring Book" which is now available on Amazon and locally features exclusively designed images that feature inspirational quotes that help to stimulate and encourage moments of reflection allowing women to rest, reset and recharge along their journey. As part of their efforts to foster networking and collaboration, the team recently hosted an enjoyable Sip and Paint evening as part of their Christmas giveback. The upcoming workshop "#BossMoves 2022" which is scheduled for February 06th, 2022 will focus on Goal Setting, Mindset Transformation and Vision Board Creation and will be hosted at the Radisson Aquatica Barbados Resort. One of the guiding principles followed by Boss Ladies United is that "transformation begins in the heart."
